Best of Kenya Wildlife Safari - 7 Days/ 6 Nights
(Samburu Game Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, Maasai Mara Game reserve and Amboseli National Park)

Highlights

This safari will give you the best of Kenya has to offer in terms of wildlife. The three parks or are unique. Starting with the Samburu Game reserve located in the north has the unique species to its habitat, mainly known as the special five followed by the Maasai Mara the world renowned reserve due to the great migration of the white bearded wildebeest and finally Amboseli National Park situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival - Samburu Game Reserve
On arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our tour manager who will welcome you as well as brief you about your safari. After your briefing you will then take and head towards Samburu National reserve having your lunch preferably at Nanyuki. After lunch you will embark on your safari arriving in late afternoon. Game view as you drive to your lodge.

As you enter the Samburu Game Reserve from Archer's Post you may spot a herd of elephants grazing near the river beds where there is plenty of food available. However, the game reserve is characterized with the doum palms which are clear identification that the water table around this region is high. As you game view towards your lodge you may spot the special five species which are the Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, grevy's zebra and gerenuk. This species can only be seen in the north of equator in Kenya. Samburu game reserve borders Shaba and buffalo springs reserve. These reserve are serve by Uaso Nyiro in some place it forms the boundary between Samburu and Buffalo springs. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge, or Shaba Sarova Lodge or Similar

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve - Full Day
Spend the day at samburu having all your game drives as look for special five. Visit also the adjacent parks and hear the historical tale of buffalo springs how they were formed. Take a visit to a nearby cultural Centre to embrace samburu culture.

Have a guided to the Samburu homestead spiced with songs, dances and activities such as traditional fire making. The Samburu are similar to the Maasai as they are related. They wear red clothing and ochre their hair just like their cousins. However, they are shunned away by the Maasai as they eat game meat and is a taboo of the Maasai not to take game meat. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge, or Shaba Sarova Lodge or Similar

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast depart southwards to the famous lake Nakuru arriving in good time for lunch. Have a game viewing as you enter the park driving to your lodge.

Lake Nakuru National Park A sea of flaming pink as far as the eye can see. These are the millions of flamingoes seeking for their food in the salty deep green waters of Lake Nakuru. The protected area is primarily for birds of which 400 to 500 species can be found here including cormorants and pelicans. However visitors to be Lake Nakuru may also catch a glimpse of Thomson gazelles, impala, waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes or even black rhino. Dinner and overnight at Sarova lion hill Lake or Nakuru lodge or Similar

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast travel southwards to the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve where the annual white bearded wildebeest migrate from and to the bordering Serengeti Game Reserve. The one or more million heard is accompanied by about 200, 000 gazelles and 300, 000 zebras during their annual migration. However, there are other species of aves, flora and fauna that game is found here. Among the animals to look out for Topi, an antelope with black patched body is likely to be found the reserve in large numbers than any other reserve or park.

Arrive at your lodge in good time for lunch. There after you will have game viewing drive in this ecosystem. You may also spot the Maasai grazing their herds of cattle.

The Maasai are so significant due to their culture. Starting from their dress code, the color red is so significant in that they scare away wild animals as they co-exist with them. They believe that God, Enkai, gave them cattle, therefore they believe that all the cattle belongs to them. That's the reason why they have been known due to their cattle rustling. Although the Maasai are known for their nomadic life and cattle keeping, they is a group of agricultural Maasai, known as IL Loikop, are look down upon by the cattle keeping group, the Wakwavi since they believe they are the true Maasais created to keep cattle. Day 5: Maasai Mara National Reserve - Full Day
Have a pre-breakfast game viewing drive or you may opt to game view by use of hot balloon where you will be able to game view a vast area. Later return to your lodge/camp for a late breakfast. Mid afternoon after at leisure and after lunch have a visit to a Maasai homestead.

A Maasai Homestead (enkang popularly known as the Manyattas) is made from cow dung and wooden sticks from the leleshwa plant. Women are the ones responsible for putting up these magnificent homes. However, a homestead contains several Maasai houses which are surrounded by a fence made also by branches of the leleshwa plant where the herds of goats and cows are confined in during the night hours. There are other Manyattas made far away in the wilderness during their Morans as they prepare their headset, the motonyik, before they return home. Day 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi - Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Nairobi arriving in good time for lunch. After lunch you will drive to Amboseli National Park whereby you will spend your night. Have your game viewing drive as you head towards your lodge.

Amboseli is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Africa's highest Mountain - Mt Kilimanjaro sits on the upper slopes of Amboseli National park. Mt. Kilimanjaro snow white peak lies across the border in Tanzania. Seeing the Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For the enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the Elephants, Amboseli is a home to; buffalos, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest and other plain animals. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or Similar

Day 7: Amboseli National Park - Nairobi - Departure
Have an early morning drive in the park, where you might see Mt. Kilimanjaro, which forms a beautiful backdrop, can be seen from the park in clear weather. A variety of plains game, antelopes and birds can be seen plus the jumbo elephants and hippos which are found bathing in the swamp grounds which get tier waters from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for your breakfast. After your breakfast depart to Nairobi. On arrival at Nairobi you will be taken to carnivore restaurant for lunch and a taste of game meat. There after you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight to the next destination.
