Best of Kenya's Wildlife Viewing Lodge
Safari - 8 Days / 7 Nights VS 326 This is an eight days safari which starts from Nairobi and ends in Nairobi. You will travel to the Central Province, The Great Rift Valley and into the Maasai Mara; the 4th most preferred tourist destination in the world and then to the Highest Mountain in Kenya, Mt. Kenya. During your safari you will stay in lodges You will be able to see plenty of wildlife varying from Kenya's Big five, the lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and the cheetah among a host of other different animal species. You will travel in a4x4 private tour minibus.
Day 1: Nairobi-Aberdare National
Park The Aberdare National Park is an isolated volcanic range that forms the eastern wall of the rift valley. It has diverse moorlands filled with deep ravines cutting through the forested eastern and western slopes, with many clear streams and waterfalls. It is also an important water catchment area, providing water to the Tana and Athi River. The Park is surrounded by an indigenous forest which houses the famous Kimathi Hideout/Mau Mau caves, which were used as a hide out for Mau Mau fighters. The park is also home to most large mammals such as the endangered black rhinos, blue Colobus Monkeys, lions, warthogs, giant forest hogs, buffalos, bushbucks, leopards, serval, different reptiles, a wide variety of insects and over 250 recorded bird species. It is a haven for walkers and lovers of solitude, as well as mountain climbers and hikers. Dinner and Overnight at The Ark/Treetops for overnight Day 2: Aberdare National Park -
Shaba National Park
Day 3: Samburu National Park (Full
Day) Samburu National reserve is a wild life haven. Here you will spot Africa's big cats-lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. Some animals are unique to this northern Kenya Park; gravy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, kudus and gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River, the boundary with the neighboring buffalo spring s national reserve, is where the elephant's buffalo and other animal's species gather for a drink. You will find the scenic semiarid landscape quite dramatic. The reserve is located within the lands of the colorful semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge/Lodge of your choice Day 4: Samburu National Park- Mount
Kenya
The national park around Mt Kenya is very different from all others. For one thing, the protected area only starts at a height of 3,300meters above sea level and because of the rough mountain country is unsuitable for a motor safari. For another, although many animals live here (e.g. Elephants, Buffaloes) you do not see many of them except at the water hole by the "mountain lodge" where particularly at night many animals can be observed. The unique vegetation and fantastic scenery attract mountaineers and botanists who can plunge through mountain forests draped with lianas, bamboo and fields of giant heather before coming to the Alpine moorland, bizarre volcanic formations and finally, the eternal ice and glaziers of the summit region. Dinner and overnight at Mt. Kenya Safari Club (137kms 2 ½ hrs) Day 5: Mount Kenya: Lake Nakuru
National Park Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park:
Maasai Mara National Reserve The Maasai Mara National Reserve, now the New 7th wonder of the world and 4th most preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance and variety that it is difficult to imagine. The most spectacular event of the natural world takes place here; The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture while being followed on their heels by the predators of the savanna; lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vulture. It hosts over 450 species of animals which include lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge/lodge of your choice Day 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve
(Full Day) In November 2006, the Maasai Mara
was named as the New 7th wonder of the world because of what experts
termed as "the uniqueness of the area and the preservation it provides
to so many species living in harmony." It is understandable because
this annual migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. For
a full package of scenery, game and the ultimate bush experience, the
Mara is the place to be. The National Reserve was the shooting location
for the film Out of Africa and remains the location for the British
Broadcasting Corporation's big cat wildlife series. The resting place
of the big five, the reserve's major attraction is the great wildebeests
and zebras migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara. This
annual event happens between July and September and is the greatest
show on earth. These animals cross over to Kenya through the Mara River.
You are bound to see the pretentious crocodiles lazing away under the
water only to dramatically break out of their sleep and snap up the
migrating wildebeests and zebra. Day 8: Maasai Mara National Reserve
