SEARCH OF THE GORILLAS - 5 NIGHTS / 6 DAYS (VSU 201)
 |
Day
One
Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Day at leisure. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel for bed and breakfast.
Day Two
Take your picnic lunch and drive through scenic countryside to Lake Buyonyi. The lake area is dotted with small islands and one of the main islands was a Dutch leper colony until 1969. Dinner and overnight at Far out Island Camp.
Day Three
You have time to take a short walk or a chance to fish or canoe on the lake before leaving to drive into the mountains to Bwindi Forest. Bwindi means "a place of darkness", aptly derived from the thick vegetation of the forest. Bwindi has also been called, quite appropriately, The Impenetrable Forest. The afternoon is at leisure at your camp. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Tented Camp.
Day Four
Excitement builds for your full day of trekking in search of the elusive and endangered Mountain Gorilla. Nothing can eclipse a moment with these magnificent creatures. Depending on when you find your group of gorillas, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before the trek back to the camp. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Tented Camp.
Day Five
Drive back to Entebbe with lunch en route. Dinner bed and breakfast at Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel.
Day Six
Transfer to Airport for your departure flight. |
