Murchison Falls Safari: 3 days

Murchison Falls National Park derives it name from the Murchison falls where the mighty river Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with Hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The Vegetation is characterized by savannah, Riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes; lions, leopards, chimpanzee giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda Kob, Chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill.

Day 1: Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park
Leave Kampala at 0800hrs. Drive through the famous Luwero triangle. Take a stop over at Masindi hotel for lunch. Drive to the park through Budongo Forest on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley in time to enjoy the fabulous falls where the sounds of the roar of the River Nile under the canopy of the rainbow produces a spiral of spray. Evening game drives before you retire to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River Lodge or Red Chillis Camp.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
Take breakfast and you will be transferred to northern part of the park for a game drive. View Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species. After lunch, proceed for a two-hour launch trip up to the substructure of the mighty Murchison falls where sinister water escapes from the narrow gorge, an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park - Kampala
After breakfast, cross the river back via Budongo forest and lunch at Masindi hotel. Return to Kampala at leisure.
