7 Days 6 Nights, Victoria Falls Getaway Game Viewing Safari – VSV 400

This is an exciting 7 days safari which takes you to Southern Africa for a fantastic view of the largest sheet of falling water in the world. This combined safari will also take you to various parks and reserves for game viewing, photography, scenery viewing and birding. You will travel by air and by road in comfortable 4x4 safari vehicles and stay in a mixture of tented camps and lodges. Our professional and experienced driver/guides will give you a fantastic overview of the parks and take you for game drives.

Day 1: Nairobi – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
In the morning you will be met at your residence within Nairobi or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by the Tour Manager who will welcome you and brief you on your safari. You will then be transferred to the airport for transfer to Zimbabwe. On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe you will be met and transferred to your lodge. You have the remainder of the day at leisure for optional activities that are on offer like boat cruises, bungee jumping, elephant back safaris and many more.

The Victoria Falls are considered by some to be among the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.  While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, it is claimed to be the largest. David Livingstone, the Scottish missionary and explorer, is believed to have been the first European recorded to view the Victoria Falls - which he did from what is now known as 'Livingstone Island' in Zambia, the only land accessible in the middle of the falls.  David Livingstone gave the falls the name 'Victoria Falls' in honor of his Queen.

Day 2 & 3: Victoria Falls – Hwange National Park  
After breakfast you will depart Victoria Falls and make your way to Hwange National Park. The afternoon is spent on a game drive with a visit to the Painted Dogs Centre. Hwange National Park is one of Africa's finest havens for wildlife and is home to vast herds of elephant, buffalo, and zebra and has a very large concentration of giraffe. It is also home to many predators and endangered species plus very large and varied birdlife. The whole of the next day is spent exploring this magnificent park.

Hwange National Park is the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe. The park is close to the edge of the Kalahari Desert, a region with little water and very sparse vegetation. The Park hosts numerous mammal species, including 19 large herbivores and eight large carnivores. All Zimbabwe's specially protected animals are to be found in Hwange and it is the only protected area where gemsbok and brown hyena occur in reasonable numbers. The population of African wild dogs to be found in Hwange is thought to be of one of the largest surviving groups in Africa today.

Day 4 & 5: Hwange National Park – Chobe National Park, Botswana
After breakfast, you will leave the beauty of the Hwange National Park behind you and cross the border at Pandamantenga into Botswana and make your way to the Chobe National Park. You will enjoy the rest of the afternoon on a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. You can also watch elephants, hippos, lions, crocodiles and a variety of birds and more without having to reach for your binoculars – you’ll be close enough for close-up photographs. The next morning you will go on an open-vehicle game drive in the afternoon. After lunch, you have the remainder of the day at leisure or have the option to book another sunset cruise (optional and for own account).

Chobe National Park, in northwest Botswana, has one of the largest game concentrations in the African continent. By size, this is the third largest park of the country, after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, and is the most diverse. This is also the country's first national park. The original inhabitants of this area were the San bushmen. They were nomadic hunter-gatherers who were constantly moving from place to place to find food sources, namely fruits, water and wild animals. Nowadays one can find San paintings inside rocky hills of the park.

Day 6: Chobe National Park – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
After a leisurely breakfast you will cross the border back into Zimbabwe and drive back to where our adventure started – Victoria Falls. This afternoon you will explore the Victoria Falls on a guided tour. There will still be time for optional activities should you wish to book more.

The Zambezi River flows over a level sheet of basalt, in a shallow valley bounded by low and distant sandstone hills. The river's course is dotted with numerous tree-covered islands, which increase in number as the river approaches the falls. There are no mountains, escarpments, or deep valleys which might be expected to create a waterfall, only flat plateau extending hundreds of kilometers in all directions.

Day 7: End of tour
Depending on your departure time, you will be taken to Victoria Falls Airport for your international flight.
