7 Days/6 Nights South Africa, Botswana and Victoria Falls Camping Safari, VSV 402(South Africa, Kruger National Park, Pietersburg, Nata, Victoria Falls)

This is a purely camping safari which takes you to the wilderness of South Africa, Botswana and Victoria Falls for game viewing, birding, game drives and relaxation as you break away from your daily activities. You will visit the above mentioned parks and reserves and will travel with an experienced guide/driver in a 4x4 customized safari land cruiser and spend the nights in camps.

Day 1: Cultural Village - South Africa
Today we visit South Africa’s Panoramic Route including God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the 750m Blyde River Canyon, for some of South Africa’s most stunning scenery. This afternoon we arrive at the Shangaan Tribal Village where we spend the night in huts. A guided tour, traditional meal in the boma and nighttime dancing give you an insight into these people’s culture.

God’s Window is a popular vantage point along the Drakensberg escarpment in Mpumalanga South Africa. It is situated at the southern extremity of the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. At God’s Window, majestic cliffs plunge over 700 meters to the Lowveld and the game reserves which have made the area one of Africa’s prime wildlife destinations. From this Escarpment—a 250 km long rampart of sheer cliffs—opens a vista into a lush forest, the Eden-like aesthetic appearance of which prompted the name. On a clear day it is possible to see over the Kruger National Park towards the Lebombo Mountains on the border with Mozambique. God’s Window played an important role in the plot of the 1980 cult film “The Gods Must Be Crazy”. Near the end of the movie, the Bushman character Xi (played by Namibian bush farmer N!xau) travels to God’s Window, and due to some low-lying cloud cover believes it to be the end of the Earth.

Day 2 & 3: Kruger National Park - South Africa
These days are spent on game drives in search of the Big Five and thousands of other species that make this Park their home. An early morning at the water hole gives us the best chance of seeing a “kill” - an experience not to be missed. One evening we do a night game drive to see the nocturnal activities in the Park, first hand.

Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.  The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, an area designated by the United Nations Education and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve (the "Biosphere").  The park has 9 main gates that allow entrance to the different camps. The names of these gates are Paul Kruger Gate, Numbi Gate, Malelane Gate, Crocodile Bridge Gate, Punda Maria Gate, Orpen Gate, Phalaborwa Gate, Phabeni Gate and Pafuri Gate.

Day 4: Pietersburg - South Africa
This morning we do a final game drive, trying to spot whatever game we are yet to see. We then exit the Park and travel through to Pietersburg where we camp for the night.

Day 5: Nata – Botswana
Leaving South Africa we cross into Botswana and continue northwards to Nata where we camp on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Nata is a village in Central District of Botswana. It is located in the northern part of the district, and is served by Nata Airport. The population was 4150 in 2001 census. The village of Nata lies along the Nata River which carries its rainy season flow to the Makgadikgadi Pans, a seasonal hyper saline lake.

Day 6: Victoria Falls – Zimbabwe
Today we head northwards through the Chobe District, where it is common to see animals along the roadside. Arriving at the famous Victoria Falls, we do a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, enjoying some sundowners and the possibility of game viewing along the banks of the river.

The Zambezi River flows over a level sheet of basalt, in a shallow valley bounded by low and distant sandstone hills. The river's course is dotted with numerous tree-covered islands, which increase in number as the river approaches the falls. There are no mountains, escarpments, or deep valleys which might be expected to create a waterfall, only flat plateau extending hundreds of kilometers in all directions.

Day 7: Victoria Falls – Zimbabwe
Today is a free day to do the many activities on offer including white water rafting, bungi jumping, micro lighting and more.

Victoria Falls is the most spectacular of the 7 natural wonders of the world. It is the world's largest sheet of falling water. The town of Victoria Falls is situated on a National Park. The falls offer an unrivalled choice of activities and high adrenalin and heart pumping activities to suit all individuals and age groups. Some activities that you can enjoy include sunset boat cruises suitable for the family, game viewing and bird watching activities, canoeing safaris, white water rafting, bungi jumping, boat paddling, elephant riding safaris, day and night game viewing, walking with lions, helicopter tours amongst others. However, some activities are restricted to children below 15 years of age, such as, white water rafting, bungi jumping, walking with lions and game viewing walks. These tours are only offered to children over 15 years of age as well as adults.
